This is just a short notice if there is a new version of the Real Capital Ships mod for Sins of a Solar Empire
Published on March 20, 2009 By Grottenolm85 In Sins of a Solar Empire

Is it just me or is the whole internet-presence of Stardock getting wose every day?

1. If i edit a post, and hit "submit changes" it makes a new post instead of editing the old one.
2. I cannot change my mod description or upload a new version in the download section. Everytime after an excruciating slow upload i get this https://www.wincustomize.com/error.aspx?aspxerrorpath=/upload2.aspx error.
3. The forum search does not work for weeks now.
4. I cannot delete my own comment at http://realcapitalships.impulsedriven.net/article/343853/Real_Capital_Ships

I use the newest Version of Firefox, but i tried IE and Opera as well. They were even worse...

I have no issues with any other sites i visit regulary so i assume the problem is not my pc.

So, I am new here and I hear about how the place is falling apart! That's just wonderfull! So what are "YOU GUYS" going to do about it? Remember I'm the new guy, I don't enough about all of this Impulse stuff in the first place. I'm not much for chat rooms and blogs anyways. Should I just take my ball and go home? Just let this site fall apart on it's own?

The forum is very bugged that's for sure.

Just because the web site is having glitches doesn't mean that Stardock is collapsing or something.  You must be new to the internet entirely if a few glitches on a page make you want to quit using a site.

Wow, one guy is having problems posting, and that means that Stardock is falling apart?  Seriously, the forums haven't exactly been innundated with people having problems posting, so it's likely you guys are experiencing a bug with the setup of your browser.

If that is so how was i able to upload the mod in the first place? My pc has not changed, neither has my notebook.

This is the first I have heard of issue #1.

Number 2 is a known issue, being looked at.  Until then please use https://www.wincustomize.com/upload.aspx

Number 3 is a known issue, on the list to fix.

I have to see if it was implemented already, but the ability to delete comments was removed, or at least was scheduled to be.

Please add the inability to upload avatars to the list.  Thanks!

Try using IE, I know I couldnt upload with FIrefox for some reason.

Seems like the more likel issue is that Stardock has been growing lately, and they're running into capacity problems.

Growing an IT system is one of the most painful things you can do to it.

I have to see if it was implemented already, but the ability to delete comments was removed, or at least was scheduled to be.

If it is not implemented or was deleted it might be useful to remove the buttons "delete" and "edit" as well? It is a little confusing right now as is says: " Are you sure you wish to delete this comment?" in a popup box, buth then nothing happens...

The upload system on WINCUSTOMIZE.COM is being re-written in preparation for the next generation of the site.

While I agree it can be inconvenient for mod uploading on our skinning site to be unavailable temporarily but I think it's a bit extreme to suggest that Stardock is "falling" apart.

CrusaderScott, you're using Flash 10.  The avatar uploading process only works up to Flash 9, because Adobe broke it.  SD hasn't fixed that yet.
